The city of Roswell is located in Fulton County, Georgia. The city is named after Roswell King, who settled the city to build Cotton mills and plantation homes. General Sherman came through the city in 1864 and burned down all of the cotton mills and had all of the employees shipped north so that the cotton mills would not rebuilt. After the war, King return to Roswell and rebuilt all of the cotton mills and all production continued. Martha Bulloch Roosevelt, the mother of Theodore Roosevelt, was from Roswell. The city of Roswell has been named one of the best city’s in which to raise a family. It was also named the 18th safest city in the United States.
