Probate and Estate Administration
Probate is a legal process by which a person’s will is carried out, under supervision of a probate court, in accordance with state law. The provisions of the Will dictate the payment of debts and distribution of assets, upon the death of the person. The estate administration function includes the process of probate and transfer of assets of the deceased that are not included in probate (such as life insurance, trust assets, annuities, and qualified plans) as well as compliance with estate tax laws, as applicable.
Mr. Raines can assist the personal representative (Executor) of the estate in the gathering, valuing, accounting for and distributing of the decedent’s assets. He works with you to assure that the process proceeds according to the wishes of the deceased and is in compliance with the law.
